Common uses: A wide range of uses apply to chamomile oil. It can be beneficial for treating digestive disturbances such as poor appetite, indigestion, and colic. It enhances the immune system and promotes healing. It has been used in the treatment of eczema and itchy rashes, skin infections and wound healing. It can be used for muscular and joint aches and pains. It has also been found to be beneficial for disorders of menstruation such as painful periods and premenstrual syndrome. It can be used for urinary tract infections. It is very beneficial for treating nervous tension, insomnia and headaches as it generally relaxes the nerves and muscles as well as relieving pain. Chamomile oil contains azulene which is anti-inflammatory.The quality of oil is measured by azulene content. The azulene crystal give chamomile oil its blue colour. It is a gentle essential oil and is particularly beneficial for treating children. Add to massage blends, body and facial oils, lotions and creams.
