Botanical name: Achillea millefolium.

Extraction method: Steam distilled from leaves and flowers.

Description: A perennial herb growing to 1 meter with white or pink flowers in summer. It grows wild in Europe, Western Asia and North America. Traditionally yarrow is known for stemming blood flow and healing wounds.

Actions: Alterative, anti – inflammatory, antirheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, astringent, carminative, cicatrisant, diaphoretic, digestive, emmenagogue, expectorant, haemostatic, stomachic, tonic, vulnerary.

Common uses: Yarrow oil is high valued for treating wounds and skin conditions. It is known to relieve stomach cramps and gall bladder pain. It is used for balancing during menopause and in a douche for vaginal infections and irritations. Also recommended to help with menstrual pain.
